The Government after extending the age of retirement from 60 to 62 years took the decision back due to possible legal action against them. The decision was taken by the approval of the President of the Pakistan instead of the Parliament of the Pakistan. In fact the government was saving its desirous candidates who are going to retire within next few months and who can benefit government in next coming election because pppp government is going towards the new election at the start of next year i.e 2013.
The official are saying that the notification for extension of retirement age was mistakenly published and issued to different organization and departments and is investigating how this happened. But the true fact seems opposite to this. You can check below news in this regard.
